Requirements

The following values are minimum requirements, i.e. they assume above-average training participation. The head of the dojo decides in your best interest about admission, providing for your successful grading.

Minimum Age ^*	14 years
Practice time ^*	6 months of practice since 5th kyu
Completed Classes	30 keikos (60 h)
Seminars	Participation in one seminar
Grading Fee	20 EUR

^*In exceptional cases, minimum age and practice time may be lowered by the head of the dojo.

Order of the Grading

Beginning

When your name is called, take three steps forward in shikko; your uke stays in line and closes up sideways behind you.

Bow to shomen
Announcement: "Shomen ni rei"

Bow to partner
Announcement: "Otagai ni rei"
Partners to each other: "Onegai shimasu"

Individual Exercises (Aiki Taiso)

Choice of exercises from this list:

Suwari Waza

Shikko (Mae, Ushiro, Tenkan)
Mae Ukemi – 2 forms
Ushiro Ukemi – 3 forms

Tachi Waza

Mae Ukemi – 3 forms
Ushiro Ukemi – 4 forms

Partner Exercises (Awase)

Tai No Tenkan
Ukemi from Ai-Hanmi Katate-Dori Ikkyo (connection as Uke)
