Grading for 3rd kyu

Requirements

The following values are minimum requirements, i.e. they assume above-average training participation. The head of the dojo decides in your best interest about admission, providing for your successful grading.

Minimum Age *	14 years
Practice time *	9 months of practice since 4th kyu
Completed Classes	45 keikos (90 h)
Seminars	Participation in two seminars
Special Notes	Self-reliant grading preparation is expected, e.g. by practising with fellow candidates outside regular classes If you haven't already done so, sign up for a membership with the Aikido Föderation Deutschland in good time before the grading. In addition to the dojo's mudansha book, bring the federation's passport to the grading.
Grading Fee	25 EUR

^*In exceptional cases, minimum age and practice time may be lowered by the head of the dojo.

Order of the Grading

IMPORTANT: Make sure that your uke has the bokken ready when lining up!

Beginning

When your name is called, take three steps forward in shikko; your uke stays in line and closes up sideways behind you.

Bow to shomen
Announcement: "Shomen ni rei"

Bow to partner
Announcement: "Otagai ni rei"
Partners to each other: "Onegai shimasu"

Tai Jutsu

Choice of techniques from the curriculum:

• Suwari Waza
• Hanmi Handachi Waza
• Tachi Waza (Mae & Ushiro)

Each technique is shown in omote and ura alternatingly (where applicable).

At any point, "kotai" (role change) may be asked for.

Buki Waza

Bokken

• Suburi 1-3
• Shihogiri
