Shomen-uchi is a vertical strike or cut to the head or forehead of tori.
Uke enters into the ai-hanmi position to strike. Uke may use a full step (ayumi-ashi) or a sliding step (tsugi-ashi) to advance. For kihon-waza we recommend tsugi-ashi.
