Punch or stab to the upper body (throat or head)

"Arm-twisting cross-pin throw": tori grabs both of uke's wrists, while his arms are crossed, pin is against uke's ellbow.

Counter technique: uke transforms tori's technique without interrupting the flow by taking advantage of an opening in tori's movement or stance. For example, an ikkyo technique can be countered with an ikkyo by changing the position.

180-degree turn on the spot, without moving the feet (hip only); also called tenkai.

Arm locking technique developed from a kaiten-nage entrance; also called ude-garami

Uke grabs one of tori's shoulders, usually the fabric of the jacket at the front of the shoulder.
