Today's focus was on USHIRO-UKEMI and (GYAKU-HANMI) KATATE-DORI:

  • MAE-UKEMI and USHIRO-UKEMI with the arm in front and stretched to the side (rolling over the shoulder)
  • USHIRO-UKEMI on the back, changing sides
  • USHIRO-UKEMI, rolling back sidewards (on the back, one arm stretched back as far as possible)
  • USHIRO-UKEMI exercise for the "leaf fall": fall directly backwards, limbo-style without kneeling, one arm stretched out far to make first contact with the ground
  • MUSUBI exercise for (GYAKU-HANMI) KATATE-DORI with contact to the back of the hand
  • (GYAKU-HANMI) KATATE-DORI: TENKAN turn with "beach ball position" of the arms
  • SHIHO-NAGE in URA and OMOTE

Important for the exam: GYAKU-HANMI position is usually not announced, only "KATATE-DORI". This automatically means "GYAKU-HANMI".
